Customer step-by-step guide (Cloud Connected).
Before you start (recommended)
· Plug your MacBook into power (recommended for all upgrades).
· Connect to a reliable Wi‑Fi network.
· Ensure you have enough free storage for the upgrade (macOS will prompt you if space is low).
· Keep your Mac awake and do not close the lid during installation.
Step-by-step: Update using Software Update
- 1. Open System Settings
Click the Apple menu () in the top-left corner, then select System Settings.
- 2. Go to Software Update
In the left sidebar, click General, then click Software Update.
- 3. Check for an upgrade
Your Mac will check automatically. If an upgrade is available, you will see an Upgrade Now or Update Now button.
- 4. Start the upgrade
Click Upgrade Now (or Update Now). If prompted, enter your Mac administrator password.
- 5. Let the installer complete
Your Mac will download the installer, then restart one or more times. Keep it connected to power and the internet.
- 6. Verify the version after restart
After your Mac restarts and you log in, confirm the macOS version by going to Apple menu () > About This Mac.

· Try clicking Check for Update, or close and reopen Software Update.
· Restart your Mac and check again.
· If you are on a managed device (MDM), your organization may restrict upgrades—contact your IT/admin.
