Manual End User Experience Wipe MacOS for re-use
Wipe your MacBook for re-use:
Step 1: First make sure that your Macbook is connected to the internet. Then connect the Macbook to the power adapter.
Step 2: Turn off the MacBook.
Step 3: Then 'Restart' and immediately press and hold the powerbutton of the Macbook till you see "Continue holding for start up items...". If this doesn't work you will have to press and hold the powerbutton of the Macbook together with the keycombination of Command + R.
Step 4: Next, select 'Disk Utility' in the Recovery app window and click 'Continue'.
In Disk Utility, select the volume you want to erase in the sidebar, then click Erase in the toolbar.
Step 5: Type a name for the volume in the Name field, click the Structure pop-up menu, choose APFS, then click Clear Volume Group.
When the erase is complete, click Done, then choose Disk Utility > Quit Disk Utility.
Step 6:Select “Reinstall” for your macOS version in the Recovery app window, click Continue, then follow the onscreen instructions.
Step 7:This takes about 2 hours, once this process is complete the Macbook is ready for re-use.
